Why Aren’t You Taking Action?

Thursday, August 27th, 2009

Having trouble taking action? In today’s post, David “The Diamond” Oswald tells us why soooo many people hesitate when it comes to taking action and what to about it . . .

I was thinking the other day about how so many gurus and teachers consistently talk about how the key to success relies on  “taking action immediately.” So if it’s so simple, literally as simple as taking action, why don’t we?

I happen to agree that the action step is the most important part of any new process whether you’re learning to become a real estate investor or anything else under the sun.

Recently, I took a little inventory in my own life to better understand why so many people struggle in this particular area. During my lifetime, I’ve been able to consistently take action, but I’ve found that there have been certain times where I’ve been slow to act.

Here are a few reasons why I believe this happens . . .

How to Dominate on the Internet as a Real Estate Investor with Josh Brown

Tuesday, August 25th, 2009

I dropped by Lou Castillo’s Fast Turn Profits event recently and got a chance to hang out with he and Josh Brown again. Josh was speaking at Lou’s event on how to use the power of the internet to explode your real estate investing business. (make sure you grab Josh’s free eBook and internet profit blueprint . . . a killer resource . . . more about that in a moment)

It’s pretty cool . . . Lou and Josh actually live in Charleston, SC . . . right down the road from me.

I met these guys several months ago for lunch downtown Charleston at Vickery’s. If you ever go there, get the ranch burger . . . it’s delicious! I don’t eat too much meat anymore. But, when I did, I would absolutely devour it . . . mmmmm, kinda makes me want to have one right now.

Anyway, I met Josh and Lou for lunch and talked nothing but real estate investing. And I’ve got to tell you . . . I’m impressed! These guys really know their stuff.

I was particularly interested in Josh’s main expertise . . . internet marketing for real estate investors.

Everybody knows that more and more people are buying and selling through the internet everyday. If you’re not actively using the internet in your real estate investing business, you’re falling behind and missing a huge opportunity. Why not jump on the opportunity before it’s too late?

There’s no better time than right now to learn how to leverage the internet to explode your REI biz. Soooo, during lunch break at Lou’s event, I got Josh to share some of his wisdom with us.

How I Got Started Investing in Real Estate

Tuesday, August 18th, 2009

Real Estate InvestingIt all started back in 2002, when I was on summer break from Clemson University . . .

I was living in Charleston with a couple buddies of mine. I worked as little as possible and was only concerned with having enough money to physically survive. In all of my spare time, you could find me at the Windjammer playing beach volleyball. I literally played every day for at least 4 or 5 hours. It was awesome!

Then one day, met a guy who was in his late twenties and owned 6 rental properties. He said that he made around $200/mo from each of his properties, that the tenants were paying down his mortgages, and that the properties had appreciated well since he purchased them.

I was thinking . . . “That’s what I’m talking about!”

Shortly thereafter, my buddies and I decided that the first logical step was to go to Barnes and Noble to buy some real estate investing books . . . the first step was to get educated.

I still remember how I felt after reading those first couple books. It was like a light was shining down from heaven saying, “This is it! This is what you’ve been looking for!”
